In 1884 X. W. JONES came to Sherman, Texas with his Father W.E.Jones, employed by the Cotton Belt Railroad then the Electric Belt Railroad. Mr. W. E. JONES left for Ponca OK at the opening of the Cherokee Strip in the empoyment of Wells Fargo. Mr JONES died in Ponca City OK in 1906 at which time his son X. W. Jones was still in Sherman, TX.
