I have been told that the wagon train originated further up in Kentucky, but I'm not sure where. There is a Mr Yowell who still lives in Kentuckytown which is only about 10 miles from where I live in Sherman. He says that one of his ancestors a Newt Yowell was the wagon master on that particular trip. I have not been able to verify this. My ancestors on the wagontrain, were my gggrandparents Robert Milton Marshall, his wife Nancy Jane[Jarboe]Marshall, My gggrandfather Thomas Richeson Marshall,my ggggrandparents John A Jarboe and Elmira [Kirtley]Jarboe. I have heard a few handed down stories about the trip to Texas, but would love to learn more. We were told that the trip took three months, and that they endured many hardships along the way, such as sicknesses,Indian attacks, swollen rivers, and even a tornado. Look forward to hearing from you.
