I'm David L. Cates, my father J. B. Cates was born in Whitewright 1916, the son of Charlie C. Cates and Mattie Skipworth. Charlie and Mattie are buried in the City Cemetery at Whitewright, J. B., my father, is buried in Illinois. U. J. 'Riley' Cates and Callie Watson Cates, my great grandparents, and other ancestors, Jackson Ray Cates and Hettie Lee Dollar Cates are also buried in City Cemetery. Any information you have about these families will be appreciated. I would also like information about the Davis Brothers gins, the Whitewright oil mill and the history and development of the Whitewright City Water Department.
