    3. I would love any info on my great-greatgrandfather Thomas William Sanders, b.June 15, 1846 Kentucky, married Mary A. Newcomb of Kentuckville(daughter of George W. Newcomb) ca 1868, and he died Feb 28, 1924 in Burkburnett, TX. They had children: Nathan Porter Sanders(gr-grandfather) Nov 6, 1869, Henry P. Sanders b. Feb 11, 1874, Homer Sanders b.Jan 1, 1888, Leatha Fay Sanders, Louisa N. Sanders and George. I don't have all the dates or children in order. I was told that for some reason there was a family squabble and one side chose to change the name so one side was Sanders and the other Saunders. I don't know which name came first if it was originally Sanders or Saunders. Anyway, one record has Thomas W. Sanders born in Marion Co. Ky and his death record has him born in Hardin Co. Ky. Then my grandfather told me that he came from Tennessee, so I don't know which is correct. They were married in Kentuckytown, and he served in a cavalry unit for the Confederacy in the! Civil War. Later they moved to Gordonville, TX. I heard stories that Mary A. used to let the James Gang hide out in the loft of her barn. Anyway, this side of my family I know very little about.
