Is anyone on the Grayson Co. list researching the family of John Jennings. John, his wife and some of his sons were on the 1850 census of Grayson Co. (John was married to Sarah "Sally" Harris in Missouri). They had arrived in the area of Grayson Co. about 1845-46 and lived there until about 1851 when they moved to Williamson Co. When Burnet Co. was created from Williamson Co. in 1852, John was elected as one of the County Commissioners and served in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th term of the County Government. ( I have a copy of John's Oath of Office). I believe that John's son Hillard and possibly another son remained in Grayson Co. when John and the remainder of his family moved to Williamson Co. I also believe that a relative by marriage also accompanied the Jennings family to Grayson Co. That relative was Ashford Grubbs. Ashford was the son of Enoch Grubbs from S. Carolina. I also have a bit of information about him. I would be happy to share what information I have with anyone researching this family. Keith Reed Arlington, Tx.
