Not sure if there was any newspapers there during that time, as the area was still very primitive in 1849. My great grand aunt's father-in-law, Renne Allred was one of the early settlers in the eastern part of Grayson County in the 1840's, and very little of his papers are to be obtained there. I have noticed from this mailing list that it seems a lot of people don't seem to know that there is a lot of good info obtainable, and it has a "site search" at http://www.rootsweb.com/~txgrayso/ But again watch the cemeteries listings that were done by Mike Cross, and I have found different cemeteries that when you look at the listings they "appear" to be complete, but they are not complete, some one just did parts of it with no mention made they are not. OK - thanks for the help. Maybe I can try to contact Mike Cross. He may be willing to take another look.
