Found an obit while going through some old newspaper clippings - it is for a Walter "Chili" Ayres - it is just an obit clipping and I don't have a date... I am wondering if anyone knows anything about this family's background. I found alot of pictures in my grandmother's (Opal Crook Cripps) belongings with the last name of Ayres on them - one says "boyfriend" - just wondering...would love to hear if anyone has any ideas???? I know of some Ayres, not directly related to me, that were from Grayson County and some that were from Marshall County Oklahoma, which is just across the state border. I do show a listing in some papers I have for a Walter, unknown alias name, with no vitals, other than he married a Phebe ??. Maybe the obit shows her name???? There also were some Crook's from the same part of Marshall County area, and was wondering if your grandma was one of them???? E-mail me direct if any of this looks like anything you may know of.
