This is especially for Vicki and Pam. After reading post about Hoyt, R.C. and etc I ask my husband if he knew any of the names mentioned by Pam, he said he knew the R.C. family, so I called R.C's wife Helen. Very nice person. We got to talking and I said there was a Pam looking for info on her husbands side of the family. I liked to have fell out of my chair when she said who her husbands kin were. Now get a load of this!!!! R.C. is kin to the Nichols line, she mentioned Walter Holland who md Floy Nichols, and she went on to say she was kin to a Moses Nichols, this is when I fell out of my chair. Because you two we go back to Moses Nichols of Tenn. After she told me this I remembered I had researched this line somewhat. They were in Fannin Co, Tx in 1880 and his name was Moses Carroll Nichols. Moses Carroll Nichols father was John Nichols who was a brother to my Green wood Nichols who was son Of Moses Nichols. So Andrew Jackson Nichols was kin to R.C. Holland. Now as far as George Holland I think he may be from another Holland line, but Mary Ellen Nichols was related to the R.C. Holland through the Nichols line. Confused yet??? Vicki, you ask if I new the Hollands buried at Preston Bend and sorry to say I don't. So, because of the Grayson County roll call I or we have found several new cousins and found info that we didn't have. Pam, Helen is a older lady but in great health and memory, she knows who you are. She is going to a family reunion in Elkmont, Ala with some kin. She said that the Hollands were also from Tenn on the Ala boarder and I couldn't make out the name she was saying, I ask her several times and never did get it correct, she was talking a little fast, but it sounded like Tillo. Then she said the Hollands lived around Honey Grove, this is in Fannin County on the boarder of Lamar Co, Tx. Well guess what, the other bunch of Hollands the ones I know and was a best friend comes from Honey Grove area also. This should be a lot of fun researching this family. Can't wait to hear from you. Helen said she would love to hear from you Pam. So with her being older you need to jump on this real fast. Here is her address and phone number. R.C. Holland 1516 S. Mirick Ave. Denison, Texas 75020 Phone: 1-903-465-3397 Your cousin, Gay Nix
Gay: God Bless you, I am the granddaughter of R.C.'s brother Hoyt Holland. That would make Helen Holland my great aunt. I thank you so much and I am emailing this message to my sister and Hoyt's Holland daughter- Patricia, who is my aunt. My aunt Patricia lives in St. Louis. I will be contracting Helen soon! Thank you again, and God Bless. Sincerely, Pamela G.
