Sherman, TX Apr 12, 1912: Letter from Martha S. (SENTER) Keirsey to Mr. M.S. Keirsey, Spruce,TX., notification of Death of "our Dear Willie" who passed away the 9 of the month after many long years and months of suffering....he was buried at Colbert, Okla near his wife, Lalter (?)" [Colter seems to be about 7 miles north of Dennison] Have photo of Martha made by Caradine, Sherman, TX as well an a ukn.gentleman, made by R.Wear in Sherman. Is this person with a full face and fully scraggly beard, with a large satin bow behind the beard the Keirsey to whom she was married? Martha Senter, dghtr of William Butler Senter< William <Henry<Stephan & Eleanor Ann Ware, was one of four sisters with a brother, William. She was also half-sister to Addiebell, Fannie, and Ella, dgtrs of WB and Harriet Isabell Gracey. ADDIEbell married to WILLiam Armstrong Porter, son of Hugh LESLY Porter & SARAH Elizabeth Armstrong on Sept 15, 1881, Alvarado, Johnson, TX. Their first three sons were born there. They moved to Grayson Co before the birth of their son, Ralph, Jan 3. 1893 in Whitesboro, Grayson Co. Both Earl and Vera (Jul 31, 1900) were born in Macomb, Grayson Co. Macomb was probably near Whitesboro. Has anyone any information about the grain elevators in Grayson, TX? Or law enforcement? Could be that my grandfather, Will Porter, worked there before moving to Ceta Canyon and ranching for a year. They moved to Tulia in Swisher County where he was Sheriff for sometime, later establishing the first grain elevator on the plains. They were no doubt involved in the Methodist Church. VB in NM
