Jul 29, 2003 12:29 AM MT Hi Cuz, I just read your inquiry. My cousin, Margie Owens married a Riley Coffey. She passed away in '91 and he passed seems like a yr or so later. They lived in Aubrey, Denton, TX. I can contact her daughter if you want. She would know who her grandparents were on her dad's side. I only knew him. He was a good old country boy. Dub is not any better. Can't see why he is hanging on. He even asked me why? I told him I guess God wasn't quite ready or maybe God knew that he wasn't quite ready. I asked if he was ready, he said almost. Maybe three hrs or so later out of the clear blue, he said, God I am ready. I knew he was ready because he was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I told him I could lead him in the sinners prayer if he wanted me, too. He said, yes. After the prayer, I asked if he knew what he was saying when he asked Jesus to come into his heart and he said yes. I asked, if he believed that Jesus was the Son of God and that Jesus died for our sins so that we could go to heaven and that He rose again and was sitting at the Right Hand of God. He said, yes to all. So, all bases are covered, right? He don't have much breath to talk but a day or so ago, they disturbed him pulling him upin bed. He starts singing, I know The Lord will make a way for me. Better get some rest as 11:00 comes early when old arthur is so crippling of a morning. Love you, Millie Love and Prayers, Dub and Millie
I sent this earlier, but apparently it didn't go through, so here it is again: Looking for any information on James Davis BREWER and Nancy Belle HARRIS. Family legend reports James Davis BREWER came to TX after a fighting a duel in GA where he was born. Also indicates he was several years older than his wife, Nancy Belle HARRIS who was born in TX, 23 July, 1876. First documented to be living in Whitesboro, Grayson County when their first son was born in 1895. After James died about 1898, Nancy married Robert MOORE and lived in Fannin County for several years. We have some information about more recent years in OK, but nothing documented back beyond 1895 except Nancy Belle's date of birth. Any information is appreciated. Fred
Just an FYI on the name Holland. There are some Hollands listed above or below my Hightower's on the 1850 Cherokee Co, NC Census. PG 92, household 602. Lots of times neighbors moved together. My Hightower's moved to Grayson Co in 1852. Sonia rod and vicki reynolds wrote: >Hi, >Thank you very much for your email. Hi, List, I am researching Roberts, Randolph, Jones, Dutton and Crabtree. My grandfather Thomas Lewis Roberts was born in Gordonville 28 July 1877. He married Laura Randolph 04 Nov. 1900. Laura's dad was Native American Choctaw and is said to have died before Laura was born. Thomas' parents were Andrew Jackson Roberts and Emiline Crabtree from Newton County, MO., married 17 April 1857. Emiline's mother, Mrs. Mary Crabtree, who died 22 March 1896, is said to be buried in Liberty Graveyard in Gordonville, although I have never been able to find a marker for her. Looking for information on Milo A. Jacobs (d. 18 April 1941) who reportedly owned Jacob's Well in Denison. Milo and Elzorah (Jones) came from Indiana to Denison in approximately 1907. I descend from Elzorah (d. 11 Nov 1925). Need information on their son Alfred who is listed as living in Dallas in Elzorah's obit. Thanks, Juanita
Gay, My Nancy Elizabeth Enloe, b. abt. 1845, d. abt 1878, was dau of James M. Enloe & Mary Enloe. James M. Enloe b. 1819 Humphrey Co., TN, d. 1877 in VanAllstyne, Grayson Co., TX. He was son of Isaac N. Enloe and Elizabeth Simpson. He married Mary "Polly" Enloe, b. 1820 in Moniteau Co., MO, d. 1877 in Colin Co., TX. She was the daughter of James McCord Enloe & Nancy Jane Simpson. So there's double first cousins in my Enloe line. James McCord Enloe, b. 1793 in York District, SC, d. in 1877 in Russelville, Moniteau Co., MO, and was son of Enoch Enloe & Jane McCord. He married Nancy Jane Simpson in 1813 in Barren Co., KY. Isaac N. Enloe, b. 1791 in York District, SC, d. 1835 Humphrey Co., TN. He was the son of Enoch Enloe & James McCord, and he married Elizabeth Simpson in 1811 in Barren Co., KY. My information indicates that James M. Enloe married Mary "Polly" Enloe, Feb 9, 1841 in Collin Co., TX. So my Enloe family would have been in TX prior to 1850. Would like to hear more about your Jackson family who came to TX from Moniteau Co., MO. KERSEY from Sadler...some buried at Dixie and at Collinsville MAULDIN GRAHAM VAUGHN WELLS Julia
Good Morning: Hello, My mother's father was a Holland. His name was Hoyt Holland and had three brothers, Bland, Ralph, R.C. Holland. R.C. is buried with his wife in Grayson county. My great grandfather's name was John Holland. I was wondering if you had any information about my relatives since your uncle was a Holland from the same county. My mother was Alice Karlyne Holland, born June 18,1931 in Grayson County. I would appreciate any information that you have concerning my family. Sincerely, Pamela G. Their son is my Uncle, I have been very close to him since a little girl. I just sat down with him last Friday & wrote down information concerning his family because he has been diagnosed with Cancer. He is a very private man. I have always called him Papa, my best friend & I grew up with him & my aunt in Grand Prairie. I loved his mother and dad, they were the sweetest people I have ever met. I was just looking at pictures I took of them at Christmas in 1970 , one year before George Sr died. Mary ,George and the other daughters are buried at Preston Bend. Do you have any other information on Mary's parents? He told me his mothers mother's maiden name was Mullins and their are several Mullins buried in Preston Bend. How are you related? Be sure to let me know so that I can tell him about you. My mother's sister, Millie Parks- Holland is married to my Uncle George. He taught me how to drive, read, swim , read the Bible, etc. He is a great man! I look forward in hearing from you! Vicki, No, I have Parks in my line. And now remember we did talk but it was about Parks and Gleaves, my Turk line md into the Gleaves in Augusta Co, Va early 1700's. Gleaves is not my direct line. I have a distant cousin who lives in Sherman who is on the Mullins side and he has Parks. Were your Parks in Fannin County? A pedigree chart wouldn't explain how we are related. Where do you live? You would have to visit where I could explain it to you, it gets very complicated because they meaning the Nichols and Mullins intermarried many times, like I said my gt grandmother Mullins and gt granfather Nichols were 1st cousins. I will try and work on a sheet and send. Gay >Give me some time to work on getting those pictures to you. I have several >I can send. I thought so. Out of curiosity where in Ky did they come from? And South Carolina? I believe they were friends with my Jackson family who also were in Moniteau County. Some of these Jacksons settled close to Van Alstyne, also could they have come on the same wagon train, sometime after 1850?
