    2. December 15, 2003 [GRAYSON] Stephenson-Sister Grove Creek To all fellow researchers of Grayson County let me first open with a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to one and all. My experiences with this site has been rewarding this year. Those who assisted me along the way have been most appreciated. I hope to share with others who may come along looking for information on my particular ancestors. (Stephenson, Sullenger, Drummond, Thompson, Carr and Dunlap) My past inquires have connected many 'dots' and filled in many 'blanks'. There was, in no particular order, Shirley Webb, Ronda Calloway, Gay Nix, Susan Hawkins, Nell Logue and Bettie Wood, who have been a great help. Thank you all. My quest at this time is to find someone in the area of the County Seat to assist me in clarifying certain deed copies that I purchased in 1997 while visiting the area. I have been transcribing these items to include in Family History book and discovered that I'm missing some important details. If someone is willing to assist me I would be most appreciative. I'm willing to reimburse if necessary and I will give details to whomever offers to assist. Sincerely, Bob Rankin, Oregon

    1. [GRAYSON] JOSHUA JONES JOHNSON, B. 1836
    2. Dear List, Seeking any info on Joshua Jones JOHNSON, B. Jan. 1836 in Warren or Marion Co. TN.  Joshua was s/o  William Perry Johnson (b. 1808) and Sarah Ann Jones (b. 1808).   Known children are:  Elizabeth, Mary, Logan P. D., Clementine, William McKinley,  and Perry Dallas.  There are probably others. Joshua Jones Johnson was married to Mary Lucy McKinley (not sure if this given name should be reversed:  no clear data).  Have no other information on her except she was killed in the tornado of 15 May 1896 in Grayson Co. TX.  He survived that storm. Joshua and family show on the 1880  & 1900 Grayson Co. TX census.  I have a DOD for Joshua of 3 Mar 1915.  However, that is from an old manuscript and I have no proof of that.  Also, I do not know where he died. Would like to exchange info with others searching the extended family of Joshua Jones Johnson.  Always willing to share and exc. info.  Also interested in old family photos.  Have researched this extended Johnson line for many years. Sincerely,  Judy Johnson Erickson, TX

    1. [GRAYSON] Helping Hands!
    2. Bob, you are right on. I've been helped by many kind people and have been lucky enough to help some along the way. My research is still a work in progress about the Reasor families in Grayson County and how they got there. But I keep plugging along and slowly but surely the story will come together. I don't know how many other "infected" folks out there have tried this, but if you can put a group together of cousins found online you'd be surprised what you can do. I put a group together three years ago and this year we published an almost 600 page bound book on the history of our family. It has everything anyone would want to know, with sources, plus pictures, family stories passed down and stories written by living descendants. The group is very proud of the book and it will be passed down, plus has been donated to libraries. The group consists of 24 members, and all most all where found by posting to every board I could think of and the help of people out there that enjoy helping others. Sorry this is so long. My thanks to everyone that has every helped me in my search for my "roots." I couldn't have done it without them (and many, many, many hours on the 'net!). Linda Sue Reasor

    2. November 15 txgrayso-l@rootsweb.com Helping Hearts To Shirley Webb and Ronda Calloway, My most sincere thanks for your assistance in my most recent posting: SULLENGER - 1900 CENSUS. To others who "pu pu" going to seek assistance, it's a two-way street. Of course the negative ones won't see this anyway, will they? One day I will be able to contribute for all of Grayson County researchers my family's story, as I discovered it anyway. The intertwining of lives and names is so interesting. Like a good book, to hard to stop researching. To Gay Nix, Thank you for your input and observation about headstone. To all who 'subscribe' - I enjoy reading your queries and the responses, who knows someday there might be something that I can help with. Their headstone was found in Worden Cemetery during our visit in October 1997. It was under an evergreen tree and was not listed in the Cemetery listing of 1997 by Cross.
