I am searching for information on George Randolph ROLLINS b. about 1859. He was married to Emma PHARISS from MO. They had two children: Jesse James ROLLINS (REDMON), b.about 1893 and Margarete ROLLINS. Jesse James ROLLINS (REDMON) lived in Dennison on Day Street. He and his wife Mary had three children who were reared under the REDMON name. Jess is believed to have been adopted by George and Ida Graham REDMON. Could the Redmons be related to the Rollins or Phariss families??? They are buried at Calvary cemetery in Dennison, Grayson County, Texas. My mother, who will be 88 years old in January, has spent most of her life trying to find information on her father George R ROLLINS. Any help will be appreciated. To everyone a Happy New Year and may all be blessed. ZCP East Texas
I am looking for my Grandfather's Parents and information regarding this family. Good or bad. My father died when I was seven so I have not many to ask. I have a few cousins I know of in Texas but they do not have answers to my questions either, it seems. Who are LEE GRANT JARRATT's parents. I believe that he was a farmer. He married Martha Jane Carter who went by Janie. Lee died when my father was young and left Janie with several children to raise alone. The only girl was Minnie and I believe she married a Hughes. They lived around Whitesboro. My mother says that Dad told her they were Southern Baptist. My father went with the CCC to Wyoming in the 30s where he met my mother. I have found information about Janie's family, the Carters, and Graves, Neighbors and so on. But nothing beyond my grandfather and not much about him... If you have any tidbits about them I would love to know.... Thanks. Patricia Jarrett Farris
December 31, 2003 Listmom wrote the following and she did say "After New Years Day" but the Red Flag went up, "Roll Call", boy was the response fast! >From : TXGRAYSO-L@ROOTSWEB.COM Date : 12/24/2003 7:57 AM Subject : [GRAYSON] Merry Christmas Merry Christmas Yall! I do hope all of you enjoy a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope all your dreams, especially genealogy dreams come true. After New Years Day we will have a roll call, it has been a while and a lot of new members have joined us quietly. Each of these lists have over 300 folks on it so it is about time for a roll call, so think of what you want to say. Please put surnames in the subject line. Susan in Texas Listmom My experience to date with those who subscribe has been a very good one. The web site is a good one too, thanks to Susan Hawkins. So here is my 'brick wall' - Stephen Stephenson was married to Mary 'Polly' Warden, they are my 2nd great grandparents. Where did he come from? He was reported to be the victim of a 'hanging' which he survived. They wanted his 'gold' and they paid with their lives from the same tree. Polly is reportedly, through family folklore, related to Cynthia Ann Parker. They lived South of Tom Bean and I've been to their lands (1997). Their son, Robert Edward (he is my gr.grandfather) married Lucinda Emaline Dunlap October 1883. She was named for relatives lost at Mountain Meadows Massacre. Where did her parents live and where are they buried? William Dunlap & Malissa Byrd Dunlap. Sarah Catherine Stephenson, daughter of Stephen & Polly, married Gabriel T. Sullenger (Jr.?), son(?) of Gabriel T. Sullenger buried at Kentucky Town Cemetery. They married about 1886. I found by accident in 1997 the headstone for Gabriel's brother and sister-in-law in Worden Cemetery. I am working on their story. Margarite Ellen Stephenson, daughter of Stephen & Polly, married a "George", she died in another state and was returned to Grayson and reportedly buried in Cannon Cemetery but I haven't found any proof. The Cemetery listing doesn't appear to be complete and the long time keeper of the records has disappeared. I met her in 1997, but of course I didn't know then what I know now. Annie Eliza Stephenson, daughter of Stephen & Polly, married Seldon Ezra Drummond June 1874, where are his parents? Seldon and Annie buried two babies and then left for OK 1889. Where did they live in the interim and where are the babies buried? Have their story almost completed. John Stephenson, son of Stephen and Polly, was murdered and is buried in West Hill Cemetery. He was married twice. Mary Alice Stephenson, daughter of Stephen & Polly, married Russell Dow Carr and I found their graves in 1997 and still have that research to do. Gabriel Stephenson, son of Stephen & Polly, married Elizabeth Pitts and we know where they buried and we have that family to research. What I am asking for is clues so I may continue my research, albeit by long distance from Oregon. To all fellow subscribers to txgrayso have a nice day and may your efforts this coming year be not in vain. Sincerely, Bob Rankin, Oregon

Thanks for lookinjg for my family names. I appreciate what you are doing for all of us. Patti
Seeking parents of these two believed to be brothers. William Jackson b. Mary 14, 1819, MO and died 1873, Pilot Point, Grayson Co., Texas. His wife believed to be Mary Ann McClain b. abt 1829 and d July 1890 Pilot Point, Grayson Co., Texas. Silas was born March 26, 1821 and died June 2, 1894 in California. We believe he married Lucinda McMinn b. Oct. 8, 1824 in Tenn and died in California. Also, if you can furnish any other clues to William Jackson and Silas we would appreciate receiving them.
Thanks. This might be the same person. If so, he was my great-grandfather whose name was listed as "JJ Carter" on the marriage certificate. I also found a J.J. Carter who was a president in the Exchange Bank in Rockwall from 1886. This latter J.J. had partnered with a Thomas J. Researching my husband's grandparents - Parker Thomas Burns 1877-1911 married to Malinda J. Smith 1875-1912 Parker and Malinda both died when their children were young. Parker died in Bowie County. Then Malinda and the children moved to Independence in Grayson County. She died in 1912 shortly after the move. The children were taken in by neighbors until several of them were eventually sent to the Methodist Children's Home in Waco. Lillian Burns - born in 1902 - went to stay with a family named Hagen Jewel Burns - born in 1904 - went to a family named Hilt in Hagerman Gene Burns - born in 1906 - went to the John Rogers family Willie Mae Burns - born in 1908 - also went to the John Rogers family Arie Lee Burns - born in 1909 - went to the E. B. Wisdom family in Willow Springs (he was adopted by this family) - Arie is my husband's father Lavada Burns - born in 1910 - went to the W. S. Norwood family (she grew up with this family) Malinda had another child from a previous marriage - Thomas Wooten born in 1897. He may have been known as Tommy Burns. His whereabouts after Malinda's death are unknown. All of these children are now deceased. It is difficult to research the family because the parents died at such an early age. The oldest child was ten years old when Malinda died. If anyone has any information they can share regarding this family, it would be greatly appreciated. Your patience in reading all of the above is appreciated also. Judy Burns Oklahoma City
Thank you- My Bates lived in Grayson County, Texas from 1900 until they died in the 1970s. I do have one person who still lives there now. Most moved to Oklahoma and then to AZ where I live now. One of my relatives are going to take the DNA test to find out what line they are from. My great grandfather James Mcduffy Bates was born in Caddo Gap Arkansas in 1878. His father is William G. Bates born in Georgia. I have not been able to prove his parents, however, I think they are Dicey and Thomas Jefferson Bates. Only because they had a William that no one can provide details for and my William and him have the same info. Also they were in Caddo Gap at the same time. Again, thanks for looking. Suzie

Could you please look in your Grayson County Plat Book for my Wainscott and Willingham families, which included Kilgore, Jackson, Tiner, Booker and Montgomery names. Patti
