    3. I would be interested in such a list. I know I have lots of the family histories of the area, or at least group sheets on them. They are a jumbled mess but Someday I had intended to write a book about KT but with the GenWeb now, it means a better place for me to put it. There is a lot of printed material out there that is great. It is just scattered. I know the trains from the Kentucky Immigration Company came in from 1852 and 55. Their last stop before KT was Waller Well in Fannin County. There were many letters sent back by the first wave that attracted more. Also many of the families in KT went on and moved to Pilot Point area together when land was too bought up in this area. So if someone is missing look in Denton County. I am working on a Grayson County website for the future. I am still swamped with Fannin County Cemetery records right now so time on it is limited till I can catch up. susan hawkins, Fannin County TxGenWeb CC Beth J wrote: > > Jeannette and list, I did send some queries to several KY mailing lists > about the 1852 Green Co KY wagon trains, unfortunately, no one there seems > to have info either. 3. Jeannette and list, I did send some queries to several KY mailing lists about the 1852 Green Co KY wagon trains, unfortunately, no one there seems to have info either. Perhaps if all who know or believe their ancestors came to Grayson Co TX from Green Co via wagon train wd post their names and info a list could be compiled and we would have a starting place? I do recognize the Newcomb, Newton and Jarboe surnames from Taylor/Green Co KY as they are connected there to my Abell line. Since my gggrandfather john Madison Abell later settled in Collin Co, near TX, I tend to think he came there because of ties to his KY kin. Is there anyone on the list interested in compiling such a list? And is anyone acquainted with the Mr Yowell said to be a descendant of the wagon train master? Are there any archives or historical societies in Kentuckytown or Grayson Co that might have records on the settlers from KY? I will be happy to help as I can on the KY end if we can put together some information from Grayson Co. Beth Abel Jones

    1. [GRAYSON] Danley/Wells
    2. Sandi Williams
    3. I have been trying for a very long time to find where my great grandparents died and are buried, to no avail. Ed Danley and his wife Annabelle "Annie" Wells Danley are both dead by 1911. It has always been said by family members that they died in Dennison or Sherman, TX. Have been unable to find death or burial records for either of them. Minor children went to OK. to live with relatives. I believe he died and then a year later she died. Ed was possibly Leonard Ed, but not sure, born 12 Feb. 1856 (not proven). He was a blacksmith & a gambler. Annie was born sometime between 1875 & 1880. Children are: Eugene Leonard b. 6 Nov. 1893 Bedford-Tarrant Co.-TX. Charles Clayton b. 25 May 1897 Mae Lucille b. 9 Oct. 1899 Myrtle b. 2 Dec. 1900 Rockwall-Rockwall Co.-TX. Ira B. b. 16 Sept. 1905 Rowlett-Dallas Co.-TX. I have been looking for Ed & Annie in all the counties & those surrounding that the children were born in. Also, all the areas known in OK. where relatives were. Have been able to find all the brothers & sisters of Annie & what happened to them, but not her. Have been unable to find any information beyond what I wrote here on Ed. Am beginning to believe that these two are the skeletons in the family closet, as nobody knows ANYTHING about them! Would appreciate ANY information on these two. Thank You, Sandi Williams

    3. Maggie Irene Wilkerson married William Davlin. Their children were Garl Edward, Charles, Jewel & a female baby born in 1910. Maggie died within days after the baby was born & is reported to be buried "Just across the river in Old Allison, TX". We think this is either Grayson or Fannin County. The three older children were raised by an Uncle, Travis Rice Wilkerson & wife, Lucy. Any information on Maggie, William or their children will be greatly appreciated. We do not know the cemetery where Maggie is buried. Maggie also had a sister, Jennie, who perished in a house fire. Thanks for your help, Shirley [email protected]

    1. [GRAYSON] Jemima Zumwalt
    2. Sandi Williams
    3. Hello everyone. I am new to the list and really appreciated the warm welcome I received by the listowners. Thank You. I am looking for information on my gggrandmother, Jemima ZUMWALT. She moved to TX. & stayed with several of her daughters after her husband Henry died about 1850. Apparently, in 1870 she was living in Grayson Co., TX. with her daughter Huldah & her husband Bradford NORRIS. A cousin has said she found them in the 1870 Census in Grayson, have been unable to get this census to verify this. We have been unable to find where Jemima died and is buried. The cousin mentioned above, this week got information saying there was an Emma Zumwald buried in the Offutt Cemetery next to a Bradford Norris. The birth date of 17 Mar 1804 fits our Jemima & I guess Emma could be short for Jemima. It would not be the first time that Zumwalt was spelled Zumwald either. The death date for Emma was 22 July 1877. I would like to get verification of her death & burial to see if this is in fact my grandmother. Were there any funeral or cemetery records in 1877 that could be obtained in Grayson Co.? There was no mention made of Huldah Norris being buried in the same cemetery. Would also like to obtain the names of any children Huldah & Bradford Norris may have had. Any suggestions or information that anyone could give me would be very much appreciated. Thank You, Sandi Williams Madera, CA.

    3. Sally, I was b. 1928 2 miles southeast of the little town of Hagerman Grayson Co TX, which was destroyed by the damming of the Red River in 1943. There were fantastic doctors in the Stout Clinic at the county seat of Sherman (Dr Stout, Dr Enloe, Dr Ridings (who took my appendix out at the Wilson N Jones Hospital in 1944) and Dr Strother who delivered me in our front bedroom) I can remember Mama speaking kindly of these, but she truly appreciated and was especially thankful for Dr Enloe. If I were you, I would follow this thread and, of course, the Catholic Churches in Sherman and Denison. The doctors in the clinic cared enough to come by horse and buggy, train and Model T Ford to our homeplace (since the first day of 1905).
