Hi all, I have further information on a family I inquired about a couple of weeks ago, so thought it might be worth while to post again. I'm looking for any information about the following families who were listed in households #302, #303, #305, and #306 in the 1880 Grayson County census: 1. Samuel M. REED, born Arkansas ca 1834 2. Sarah REED, born Alabama ca 1836 (Sarah was Samuel's second wife. Sarah's maiden name was REED, her first marriage was to a Joseph INGRAM, and her second marriage was to Samuel M. REED) 3. Easter/Ester E. REED, born in Arkansas ca 1866 (daughter of Samuel M. and Sarah) 4. John W. REED, born in Missouri ca 1870 (son of Samuel M. and Sarah) 5. Celia E. REED, born in Kansas ca 1872 (daughter of Samuel M. and Sarah) 6. Robert B. REED, born in Texas ca 1874 (son of Samuel M. and Sarah) 7. James F. REED, born in Texas ca 1876 (son of Samuel M. and Sarah) 8. Angeline REED, born in Arkansas ca 1877 (daughter of Samuel M. and Sarah) 9. George S. REED, born in Missouri ca 1859 (son of Samuel M. and his first wife). George died in 1883, and is buried in the Cedar Mill Cemetery. 10. Joseph A. INGRAM, born in Missouri ca 1863 (step-son of Samuel M. Reed) 11. Mary A. CURTIS, born in Alabama ca 1837 (may be a sister of Samuel M. Reed's wife, Sarah) 12. Lary CLEMENTS, born in Alabama ca 1860 (probably a son-in-law of Samuel M. Reed) 13. Martha L. CLEMENTS, born in Arkansas ca 1862 (probably a daughter of Samuel M. Reed and his first wife) 14. Mary I. REED, born in Arkansas ca 1862 (probably a daughter of Samuel M. Reed and his first wife) Joseph A. INGRAM (#10 above) was married in Parker County in 1884, and he and his wife are buried in Parker County. Sarah REED (#2 above) had a sister, Lucinda PATTON, who lived in Parker County from about 1875 until her death in 1917. A James Franklin REED, who I suspect is the James F. REED listed above (#7) died in Parker County in 1929. Any assistance in locating any member of this family would be appreciated. I would be happy to exchange information.

Amen Cheryl!!!! Surely more, and updated links, could be added, along with different other items submitted by various researchers and their work, pertaining to Grayson County. Another link that is, not only useful to Grayson County, but all Texas, is http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/Texas/ I have heard that someone is trying to "re-do" the Grayson County cemeteries, as some listings are in error (right info from headstone, but listed in wrong cemetery), and I know for a fact, that quite a few "marked" graves, were missed when canvassed. I think most of us have been to the Grayson County site and it does a couple of good links, but I do wish it would be updated [most of it has not changed since 1998, maybe early 1999]. I look at other county sites abounding with information and vibrant and wish I that Grayson County site would come alive. I really don't want to start a flame war, but I feel very frustrated by the site. Two of the links are to non-existant pages and have been for a long time. Another is to a URL that cannot be located by netscape [www.chrysalis.org] and yet another may be to a server that is often down [the Texas pensions]. Archived Queries Jan - June 1998 are coming soon! I hope you are not holding your breath as that sign has been up at least a year. Yes, the person maintaining the site is a volunteer and probably busy [aren't we all?] but taking on a county site really means some commitment to checking it out links and some responsibility for refreshing it at least every six months. Not a redesign, just a good look at what is presented. Cheryl Morris

I'm trying to find out if there is a Will for Amstead Walls. He died June 09, 1913. He and his wife Sarah M. St. John. Where would the Will be if there is one? ALSO, what newspaper was running during that time? Respectfully Yours, Rea Gillette [email protected]

Hi List Members, I just discovered my relationship to the Samuel M. Reed family that appears in the 1880 census of Grayson County. If anyone on the list has an interest in this family, or knows anything about this family, I'd love to exchange with you. Regards, Mike Landwehr
Hi, I'm looking for a Joseph A. and Sarah Mily (REED) INGRAM, who were married in Arkansas in 1859, and living in southern Missouri in 1860. They had a son, also named Joseph A. INGRAM, who was born in Missouri around 1861, and married in Parker County, Texas, in 1884. I've not been able to locate either of these Joseph A. INGRAM's in 1870 or 1880. I recently learned that there is a Joseph A. Ingram listed on page 377 of the 1880 Grayson County census. I can order the census microfilm from Salt Lake City, but with the upcoming holidays, it will be 4-6 weeks before I'll receive the microfilm. I wonder if there is anyone on this list who has easy access to the 1880 Grayson County census, and would be willing to help me by checking for a Joseph A. Ingram on page 377? Thanks in advance, Mike Landwehr West Des Moines, Iowa PS: I am also related to the following families who lived in Grayson County: 1. Archibald STOGSDILL, died 1871, buried in Mt.
