Posted on: Gray Co. Tx Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Gray/118 Surname: Sublett ------------------------- The class picture you reproduce is not the same as the picture of the class of 1916 which was reproduced in the 1979 "McLean News". Surely the names of the class of 1917 would appear in the "McLean News" for that year. I will look to see if we have that on micrfofilm.

It can be viewed on the page under 'Resources'..... http://www.rootsweb.com/~txgray/ --------------------------------- In response to John Mead's post: John, He wasn't certain of the year...it could have been either 1916 or 1917. The photo was dated by the fact that his father enlisted for the service before 1918. All the senior class photos used to be hung in the downstairs hallway...anyone know where they are now? Posted on: Gray Co. Tx Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Gray/113 Surname: Graham ------------------------- The Gray County history book, "Gray County Heritage", on page 467-8, mentions Tom Price, Jr. and his wife Virginia. Virginia Price's maiden name was Virginia Graham, daughter of Frank P. Graham, head of the Land and Production Department of the Skelly Oil Company in the Pampa area. In the 1933 Pampa city directory, Frank P. Graham lives in Pampa at 601 N. Frost. The Gray County history goes on to say that Tom Price married Virginia Graham in October 1932. I wonder if this is the same Virginia Graham of the college yearbook? At least the dates seem to fit.

Is this Evelyn Goodman supposed to have been a Gray County girl? I can check the marriage records to see if the marriage occurred in Gray County.
Posted on: Gray Co. Tx Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Gray/111 Surname: GRAHAM ------------------------- I bought a "1930 College Widow" Annual published by the Christian College in Columia, Missouri in an Antique Store. This is an all girl school. The Annual shows a picture of each girl and tells where they are from. Most are from Missouri. One girl named Virginai Graham is from Pampa, Texas. She lists her interests as College Widow, Kansas Club, Y.W.C.A. and Twelfth Night. Each girl is also given a motto --- hers is "Ginny's good nature is always present as is her unusual sense of humor." I hope this information will help someone looking for this Graham connection.

I called Fairview Cemetery--he is not buried there. Just called Memory Gardens, the other of Pampa's 2 cemeteries. Not in their records. There are 3 Freemans on my computer list of people buried in Hillcrest Cemetery in Mclean--no Stanley. Maybe the death certificate will tell where he is buried.

It is possible that no obit was posted, but we'll know more when find out where he died. I'll message you again when I get it. Thanks so much for your help. Hi everyone, For November's roll call project, I would like to give you the URLs to our GenConnect message boards, and ask you to gather family information to post to the boards. I'll also include a couple of pointers on how to better utilize the boards. Since the Rootsweb "gateway" system was put into place last April, posts to each of the seven boards are now automatically forwarded to our mailing list. The system has proven successful and use of the boards continues to increase. There are seven boards -- one for QUERIES, and six for DOCUMENTS. --------------------------------------------------------------- http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/Gray http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/GrayBibl http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/GrayBios http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/GrayDeed http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/GrayObits http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/GrayPens http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/GrayWill --------------------------------------------------------------- Queries: For all Queries -- even though it may refer to one of the other subjects. Bible Records: Copy the names and dates exactly as they appear in your family Bible. Give the date the Bible was published, and also its current owner/location. Biographies: Bios can be an informal narrative you've written of someone's life. It can be a passage of a printed text -- be sure to cite your sources. Deeds: Deeds, land exchanges, or land grant records. Transcribe the text and tell where the record can be located. Obituaries: Transcribe newspaper death notices. Give the name of the newspaper and date of the article. Pensions: Military pensions records. I've found various war records at the National Archives. Many include pension information. Wills: Transcribe wills verbatim and tell where the record can be located. As you can see, the more we use the GenConnect boards, the more valuable a research source they will become. Post your information directly to the boards, and within seconds the post will also appear on our mailing list. One last point -- Since posts to the boards will be seen by a wider circle of family researchers, you may get responses from people who are not on our mailing list. To make certain everyone sees the resulting discussions, you'll need to be sure you respond to the board. Thanks, LaRae TXGRAY listmgr.
