Tx Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Gray/10180 Surname: Blalock ------------------------- John, Thank you much..I will say that sometimes spelling: Blaylock,Blalock, Blaylack. I do not know of a spouse, or children at this point. But do know that his brother, John Adams Blalock, m. Celia Bullard, resided in the same Co. and in the 1900 Clay Co. Texas Census, John A. Blalock has his family listed, and also compromising the household is his sister, Mary E. Starkey....58 yrs. old, she might have died in Clay Co. I am told that Jesse R. & John & Mary E. mother, Louisa Blalock is buried at Prospect ? Texas... Is this the same Co. as Clay? Your search is most welcomed. Thank you for your time. Frances

    3. Posted on: Gray Co. Tx Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Gray/10179 Surname: Blaylock ------------------------- The computer list of those buried in Hilcrest Cemetery in McLean lists a J. R. Blaylock who was buried there 4/11/1918. We at Lovett Library-Pampa have microfilmed issues of the McLean News" back to 1918, but for some reason I do not find an obit in the issues just after his supposed burial date. There are several other Blaylocks in Hillcrest Cemetery, all of them more recent than J. R.'s. The one nearest his date of burial is L. M. Blaylock, buried 1-23-1953. I do find his obit, but it is said that he was born in Cedar Hill in Dallas Co., Texas, and that he had come to McLean about 1928. I do not believe that he was a son of J. R.'s. The remaining Blaylocks in Hillcrest Cemetery seem to be descendents of this L. M.

Went from Dallas Co. Ala. to Texas, and served in CSA, Co G. 25th Reg't, La. Volunteers. In 1913 he is has applied for pension, stating that he has lived in McLean, Texas for over 15 years. Having lived in state of Texas since 1865...You might find his surname spelled Blaylock, and would be one in the same. Does anyone know who he married, his children, and at the time of pension he was 80 years, so we know he died aft 1913.. I would be more than happy to share what information I have....Believe he was son of Levi & Louisa Roberts Blalock, migrated from S.C. Va. to Ala. to Ms. & possibly to La. and into Gray Co. Texas...email: elchico@shasta.com

It is my understanding that the school was located just north and east of Groom. Our uncle- Paul Hermesmeyer is in the picture. I have names of most of the children only missing a couple. I thought anyone who might be in or have relatives in the picture might want a copy - as old pictures are rare to come by. Would be more than happy to share with anyone and would be interested in anyone who might have attended school with our uncle or any of his other siblings that attended the school.
