PALESTINE, March 28. -- Dr. West, a leading physician here, was arrested to-day by Sheriff McManus, charged by Miss Campbell with endeavoring to seduce her from the path of righteousness. She attaches to her affidavit numerous letters written anonymously to her by the Doctor which make spicy reading. No scandal for a long time has so stirred up the community. The doctor has practiced here in our best families for years. The lady is not particularly attractive nor very young, and the doctor is old enough to have grand-children. He was released on bond and denies all knowledge of the letters, and insists that this is a blackmailing scheme.
