Thanks for the welcome. We are related but it is not a direct line. The common ancestor is back in North Carolina in the early 1700's. That branch went to Tennessee and our branch went to South Carolina>Alabam>Texas. Our ancestor Ransom Sowell came to Texas before the Republic of Texas days serving in the Texas Revolution. He was with the group that comprised the first Texas Rangers.
