Question: I noticed that in another email below, the CC gave the address as www.usgwarchives.net for the USGenWeb Archives pg. Is that correct, or is supposed to be www.usgwarchives.org/ ... in other words is "net" or, "org" on the end of address?? They both take you to same place ..... clarification please, anyone? --- On Mon, 4/6/09, Nan <nstarjak@gmail.com> wrote: From: Nan <nstarjak@gmail.com> Subject: [TXGEN] Fwd: [TXGW-NEWS] Files No Longer Available in the Archives To: txgen@rootsweb.com Date: Monday, April 6, 2009, 8:04 AM Shirley. Could these be links to the old archives files on rootsweb? Those have been deleted (at long last), since everything should be on www.usgwarchives.net since last year. There may have been some vital records deleted from the current site, but I'm not aware of any wholesale deletions of other types of files. The correct url should be .net They originally moved from RootsWeb with the.org URL, then changed it to .net. The .org files are still there, but not added to or updated last I was told. Dorman can probably give you better info on that than I can.
