    1. [TXGEN] Data Base Question
    2. John Quigley
    3. I am getting ready to move my Kinney County web site to its own Domain and URL. What i am wondering about is taking my cemetery data and putting it into a Data Base (MySQL) or something similar so that when someone comes to the website they can search Kinney County burials and will find what cemetery and if there are photo's of the gravesite. Any help greatly appreciated, it will be my first DB since COBOL days in another life. -- John Quigley E-Mail: jquigley2@gmail.com http://www.1and1.com/?affiliate_id=108813

    3. John, I have a database in the works (its coming right along) with some help from a man in California. I'm happy to give you a look around and we can discuss things. The database has not yet moved to txfannin.org, so I'd have to send you a link. 3. John I have some db's, using mysql and php on my sites, although I don't use them specifically for searches. Let me know what I can do to help you. BTW, I'm also an old cobol pgmr in a former life... starting with 370 and 3033's and ending on the AS400 - great little machine!!! jimmy John Quigley wrote: > I am getting ready to move my Kinney County web site to its own Domain > and URL. 3. I am looking to make my site one big db, I don't have a lot of stuff yet but am working on gettting marriages, births as well as brands and other types of info and want to set it up so folks can access the data from a query page based in surnames, first names. Of course that might not be a good idea, and I understand that I will need to learn php in order to make this work. 3. Hey John, That's precisely what I am researching right now, though I've already moved the site to HostMonster. Not sure if I will use MySQL or an Access database, though. My webhost does support MySQL. I am transition from FrontPage to Expression Web currently. I'd love to hear some ideas on the subject. I'm hoping to give database to my cemetery coordinator, so when she updates the cemetery info, the webpages refresh automatically.
