You mention Windows Live, I have had nothing but trouble since going to Windows Live. Anyone out there having problems? Have had it nearly a year and Microsoft couldn't figure out what the problem was and told me they hoped to have it worked out within the year. The year has arrived and haven't heard anything from Microsoft. For about 7 years, I have used a program called Avast. It's small, FREE and it works. There is another freebie called AVG that a lot of the techs recommend but I have never used it. Avast can be downloaded and registered at avast.com. The site opens on the Corporate Suite, you want the FREE Home Version. AVG is at free.avg.com BUT they recommend that you use their anti-spyware program with it. Elaine, maybe these two should be on your list of free software if they aren't already? Grace, I recently bought a LifeCam and am using Windows Live Call... and it works fine on my PC... hardest thing for me was figuring out how to get it going. The error I was making was trying to make a live call when I had the Cam open... Nothing like being dumb to have a good excuse. ;-) Billie ----- Original Message ----- From: Grace Ashley To: txgen@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, July 06, 2009 5:55 PM Subject: Re: [TXGEN] Anti-Virus/malware You mention Windows Live, I have had nothing but trouble since going to Windows Live. When I went with Windows Live many things happened but the most damaging was it removed my HP Photo Shop and Imaging Center. Since it was installed on my computer when purchased no way to reinstall it. Microsoft helped with ideas on how to solve them but didn't then about a year ago I got an email from then saying there were many problems with Windows Live and give them about a year to solve them and they would get back with me. Haven't hear from them yet. A technician and a computer specialists told me the same thing. Microsoft had not worked out the bugs, they wanted the users to report what all was wrong with it.
