    3. Carol Martin did the same thing with marriage, birth and death indexes in Mason County. She sent them to me and I transcribed from the pictures. I have people ask if I have the original picture and I send them the page they request. Sarah Revely took pictures of the New Braunfels Cemetery and then took pictures of the book where people paid for their graves. This book was very fragile and kept in a vault and not usually something the public could look at. I tried to take some pictures but it just wouldn't work for me. I guess the lightning may have had something to do with it. Pretty smart idea and it saves on copy costs. I try to forget how much I have spent on copies of Naturalization Records, Census, etc. Wanda Qualls Matthew 5 - 7 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jo" <bjcb@bellsouth.net> To: "Sue Tackel" <sue@wisecountytexas.info>; <txgen@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 26, 2009 7:02 AM Subject: Re: [TXGEN] great project Sue, Will you be leaving that link up for a while? I would like to be able to get back to it later. We found this project to be lots of fun (lots of local interest)! We took pictures of over 15,000 pages. We now have all the pages online (this unlimited web space is great), but we are still working on indexes for all the years. See http://www.wisecountytexas.info/bridgeportindex/old_papers.htm If someone has access to old newspapers, this is a great project! We hope others will try it. It's not all that expensive or difficult. Check out the little page I did on our methods http://www.wisecountytexas.info/bridgeportindex/imaging_methods.htm Sue ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TXGEN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TXGEN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
