Tis an interesting website, but, YUCK, how barbaric. Sorry, I don't believe in executions, plus it costs the taxpayer more money to execute some one than to keep them in prison for the rest of their life. Now my hubby the retired police officer would disagree with me, so I guess I'll go back and slide under my rock. Eecutions from all the way back to 1827 for most of them it appears to list date of death county how they were executed race and gender it also list the crime and there is also a place where stories are being listed from local papers on the execution not sure if you would want to list all of the info or link to it. http://users.bestweb.net/~rg/execution.htm Jo Deaf Smith Co. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TXGEN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message. We are in the same boat, Jan. My hubby, the retired police officer, would agree with your hubby. I definitly believe in excutions, as a former correctional officer. I say let the punishment fit the crime. They should be excuted by the same means they killed someone. I have to disagree with this on the grounds that we deal in historical reality, not whether we like the things that happen or not. It is indeed a gory thing, but one that I found on the site was an historical relative of mine who was killed as a witch during the Salem witch trials. That was truely a gruesome time. I'm the 7th gr-grandaughter of Mary Towne Esty. She and her sister were hung as witches at Salem, Mass. Some twenty-odd years later her husband was recompensed $20.00 for her death.
