Suzanne, I would treat them as photographs and put them in a folder labeled "Obits." Then at the grave listing on a cemetery page you just need a link to where it's stored. Are you going to allow users to download the obits? If not, they can still do a screen capture for the image or Ctrl-C for plain text copy. Gale Gorman (Robertson Co.) Here is the way I handle obits. Quick and easy. Yes, you should be able to run javascript on RW, but you would need to make the pages static as RW does not allow PHP. AFAIK, if it is client side you can run it at RW, but server side you cannot. jimmy On 01/05/2014 12:00 PM, Jane Colmenares wrote: > The rootsweb/ancestry sites should run javascript without a problem. > > > >> ________________________________ >> From: Suzie Henderson <henderson.suzie@gmail.com> >> To: txgen@rootsweb.com >> Sent: Friday, January 3, 2014 9:34 PM >> Subject: [TXGEN] Question re: Rootsweb/Ancestry Hosted sites >> >> >> Does anyone know if you can add a Google Map API to your site if it resides >> on the Ancestry servers? Does anyone know if you can add a Google Map API to your site if it resides on the Ancestry servers? They require Java to run and I don't know if Java is permitted on the Ancestry servers.... Trying to figure out if we can imbed a map such as this one in the left margin and the "larger map" linked just above the small map to a different county site which is hosted on the Ancestry servers.
