    3. I'm not a Mac person, so maybe someone else can better help you.   Each browsers handles embedded music differently.  For most browsers you can use this HTML code <embed src="yourmusicfile.mid" autostart="true" loop="true" width="2" height="0"> </embed> <noembed> <bgsound src="yourmusicfile.mid" loop="infinite"> </noembed> I always use .mp3 files, but this should work with a .wav or .mid file as well. You change the "yourmusicfile.mid" with the location of the mp3 you want to play.  I have always uploaded a copy of the .mp3 file to my website and pointed to that.   For my part, I always actually install something that allows the viewer to turn the music off.  I know that if I go to a site that automaticaly plays something, if I cannot stop it, I pretty much leave the site.   If you want to put an mp3 player that can be stopped, let me know and I will send you different code. Hope this helps. 3. Need to change the pages from "fluid" to "fixed" width. In Kompozer, look for something that gives you the page settings, probably it reads something like "page size 100%" which means that it makes the page spread across the user's monitor. If you change this to a definite size, something like 980px then the page will always be that size on everyone's monitor. Your friend will see the page in the center of the screen and the background image on either size. 1. [TXGEN] cemetery exchange
    2. Mike & Jane Keppler via
    3. This came off another list I'm on and might come in handy. We came into 3 plots in San Antonio and this may be the place to go to sell them. Jane Keppler <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< There is a web site that would be very beneficial to everyone that needs the information or that knows someone who might benefit from it. These people are all over the United States and having something that would help many people, especially in these times. Go to this site: http://www.thecemeteryexchange.com/ Click on "buy" and see the states listed and those that have registered to help others obtain cemetery lots. In most ads you will be able to see the asking price today of the cemetery for the lots and the price the owner is willing to sell their property for. In many of these you can save thousands of dollars by taking advantage of the offerings. Many of these people have moved/relocated and need to sell their property. Some have inherited family property that they are not going to use because they live elsewhere or any other reason you might imagine and want to offer a savings for others. However, the savings are great for those that need this help or are interested in purchasing their family lots. The cemetery does not offer any help purchasing their lots other than financing. If you check, you will see that the lots, especially in the larger or more popular cemeteries' price will increase about $100 per year. This expense, when a funeral is very expensive without adding in the lots to be purchased at the same time, can be devastating to families without life insurance to help with the costs. I just thought you'd want to know that is out there to help others and to share. It's not advertised anywhere that I've seen and it needs to be.

    3. Others have described what is causing the message problem you're seeing. But it's not just a problem for you and your computer. The researcher looking at your page may not have a mail client (program) installed on their computer either. Many people have web-based e-mail only, (yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc) and will get the same error message as you did. That can be very frustrating. In my opinion, it's best to just put a graphic of the e-mail address in place of the usual "mailto" link. 3. Actually, you don't have to install an email client. I use two computers all the time (sitting side by side). I have my email client on one computer and do all my email on that computer. However, I occasionally want to click on a link in a web page on the other computer and send a quick email from there. It's the lazy way of doing it. It is also not practical to copy/paste an address into my email client when it is on a different computer (yes, there is a way to do that, but I can't give away all my magic secrets LOL). If you are using Chrome and gmail, you can read how to do it here - https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/1382847?hl=en and if you have a problem with that working let me know. There are similar "fixes" for other browsers and sbcglobal webmail. It just helps if I know which browser and which carrier you are using. I'll be happy to help anyone with this! 3. This indicates that you do not have an e-mail program installed on your computer (or that your default is not pointing at it).  Windows 7 does not come with a pre-installed e-mail program.  To use that "sendto" html code it relies on an installed e-mail program (not one you normally use that you are using from a website), such as Outlook, Windows Live Mail, etc, once you install it, you need to check to be sure your e-mail defaults all point to it. You can install Windows Live Mail on your computer  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials or  Thunderbird   https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/ There used to be 2 exceptions to that, yahoo with the toolbar installed and gmail with a gmail notifier.  I know that Google has stopped supporting the Notifier, so that may not be an option anymore. Hope this helps.   If you need any help getting one of the programs onto your computer, just holler.  I'll be happy to help. 3. I can answer your first question. You are not violating any laws listing the birth and death dates no matter how recent they are. The law only pertains to the Dept of Texas Vital Records database that was temporarily on line. Any dates received from funeral homes, submissions by researchers, newspapers, headstones, etc are okay to use. 3. Placing the death certificates online is fine, along with the dates from all I have heard. If not, then there are a lot of us that are in trouble! LOL I have Windows 7 and have not had problem with email addresses. I have no clue what would be causing that. I have a table listing name, date of birth, date of death, name of parents, and cemetery. Then by clicking on the name, you can see the actual record. 3. I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can help me with. First, I've been given about 80 years (1915-1995) of funeral home records for the Afro-American community in this area with permission to use them on our website.  I have a table listing name, date of birth, date of death, name of parents, and cemetery.  Then by clicking on the name, you can see the actual record.  You can view this at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~txvicto2/dewittfuneralrecords.html  Now am I violating any laws by listing the birthdate or death date?  If I deleted the dates in the table, would I be able to still give them access to the record which has the dates?  It is such great info that could be very hard to find.  I really need some advice on how to handle this. Second is a computer problem.  When there is an email address on a website page (like contact John at [email protected] ) I can't just click on it to send a message.  I get this notice "Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed."  If I copy and paste the address, it works.  I think it has something to do with Windows 7 from what I've read.  Any suggestions?
