I could be wrong but it looks like his ip address (verizon.net) is on SORBS blacklist. Reason: Remote SMTP server has rejected address Diagnostic code: smtp;550 5.7.1 <txfannin@rootsweb.com>... Rejected: 206.46.173.3 listed at dnsbl.sorbs.net The 206.46.173.3 is Verizon.net You can go to http://dnsbl.sorbs.net and register and check on it to be sure I'm looking at it correctly. Clicking on "Database Check" wasn't working for me, but maybe it might later. Otherwise you'll have to register - it's free. jimmy Suzie Henderson wrote: > I've posted a request for help at the Rootsweb Help Desk, but I thought one > of you fine folks might know the answer. > > One of my txfannin mailing list subscribers is receiving his list messages > just fine...but he can't reply to them. > He clicks on "Reply" sends his message and receives a bounce notification. > > As I read the headers, it looks like the reply is going to tx-fannin > bounces...but then later it shows it was going to txfannin@rootsweb and was > bounced there. > > Can anyone see why? or what's going on? > > Suzie > TXFannin > > -----Original Message----- > From: postmaster@verizon.net [mailto:postmaster@verizon.net] > Sent: Sunday, February 08, 2009 8:38 AM > To: ndrubarts@verizon.net > Subject: Delivery Notification: Delivery has failed > > This report relates to a message you sent with the following header fields: > > Message-id: <35684072CAF04A139A94759F98143505@D7Y6LP61> > Date: Sun, 08 Feb 2009 08:37:59 -0600 > From: "Don Rubarts" <ndrubarts@verizon.net> > To: <txfannin@rootsweb.com>, <txfannin-bounces@rootsweb.com> > Subject: RE: [TXFANNIN] Census Precincts? > > Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients: > > Recipient address: txfannin-bounces@rootsweb.com > Reason: Remote SMTP server has rejected address > Diagnostic code: smtp;550 5.7.1 <txfannin-bounces@rootsweb.com>... > Rejected: 206.46.173.3 listed at dnsbl.sorbs.net > Remote system: dns;mail.rootsweb.com > (TCP|206.46.173.3|47698|66.43.27.34|25) (mail.rootsweb.com ESMTP Sendmail > 8.13.8; NO UCE C=US ST=Utah) > Recipient address: txfannin@rootsweb.com > Reason: Remote SMTP server has rejected address > Diagnostic code: smtp;550 5.7.1 <txfannin@rootsweb.com>... Yes he is. I've gone in to the Admin interface and double checked. Also, I sent a note to the TXFannin List asking if anyone else was having the problem. I've had another Verizon customer report the same problem, so I've informed Rootsweb. Someone sent me information from the Montague list that said we had to have the -L in the address or it wouldn't work! I so rarely send the original note, that I always have to go look to see if the -L is required. I've never found one come in with the -L in the address...except when initially subscribing. Just hitting reply on this one it' is going to txgen@rootsweb...there's no -L in this address. I'm very confused and don't want to mislead my list. So far, the only thing consistent is the Verizon as sender. I've posted a request for help at the Rootsweb Help Desk, but I thought one of you fine folks might know the answer. One of my txfannin mailing list subscribers is receiving his list messages just fine...but he can't reply to them. He clicks on "Reply" sends his message and receives a bounce notification. As I read the headers, it looks like the reply is going to tx-fannin bounces...but then later it shows it was going to txfannin@rootsweb and was bounced there. Can anyone see why? or what's going on? Thanks for the congratulations, everyone... Garza is a very interesting county to research, and meeting all the contributors and hearing their stories about their families is an education in itself. My thanks go to all that contributed their information to make this honor possible. Vicki, (about the unknown picture) I have found where in those days in some areas they had what they called "play day" once a year. They put on a play, dressed up in costumes, and everyone brought lunch to spread from all over the area. Like a family reunion, but it was a community area reunion. In the Houston County area called Wesley Chapel, they did that and I have a picture of my aunt as a young girl dressed as a man when she was that character in their play. I am beginning to wonder if that's the answer to his dress-up....
