Teach Genealogy software in the ALL program. Recommend Legacy Family Tree, RootsMagic and The Master Genealogist. They are more robust packages than Family Tree Maker. The new 2009 is very sluggish and does weird things under the XP environment. I was way late, but I had to try since I am on my wife's laptop [my own computer crashed over a week ago and is still down]. I had just remembered. Sincerely, Edward, Sr. [Armstrong, Hidalgo]
Hi, Just a reminder that everyone is invited to join us for our weekly chat session at 8pm. Hopefully our server is working well. It was earlier when I checked. What happened last week was unusual. New people are invited to drop by and introduce yourself. This is a good way to get acquainted. http://www.txgenweb.org/tx/chat/chat.html Cynthia Samples
I use the latest version of FTM. I loaded it onto my external harddrive (500gig Iomega bought $79 at Radio Shack) and run it off of there, no problem. After losing all my data one time also, I keep my data on this external harddrive. If I touch something alot I put it on my laptop and save a copy to the external drive. The things I don't want to ever lose, like pictures, are on my laptop and backed up on the external hard drive, on dvd, stuck in a drawer and in a box and on the floor and... well you get the picture. Also, anything I have up on the txgenweb server, I consider those files to have been backed up so I have one local copy that I work with. When I lost my data, I was able to get most of it back because google spidered my site. I did a search on google for a file or picture of mine I lost and they had spidered it and saved it. I just downloaded it and I had it again. This only works if they have spidered your site and you look for your file before they overwrite it. You can go onto google and add your site to the list of those they spider. On Tue, Mar 24, 2009 at 8:50 AM, Robin Inge <wolfhuntress2002@yahoo.com>wrote: > My cousin has it and she also uses vista.
