Shirley - As best I remember, it was back in the 90's and it was a guy that had it at that time. I think that he died and the website was then given to someone else. I don't know if anyone ever got into the original website. However, if you go to: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~txpecos/Meetings/ You get a blank page, not a 404 error. Elaine,      As long as I have been SC and we started keeping a list of passwords, the ~txpecos website was not the official county site. That was ~txpecos2. If someone succeeds in identity theft from these files, I want in on that action... Who's going to report you???? The vital records are also still there. I think they should be removed. My take is if we have information regarding someone most likely still living, then it's not genealogy!!! I would suggest pointing .org to .net. You can do it as a redirect from .org, or you can do it at the domain level by parking .org to .net. I don't link to individual files on the archives... I only link to the index page for the county archive page on my county websites. I decided I didn't want to be accountable for what someone else did or did not do on the archive page. The visitor can go there and look around for themselves.... All those are okay. I assume Rootsweb/Ancestry must have cleared their search engine cache. I haven't been receiving any record removal requests in the past 2-3 weeks, which has definitely been a nice change. Joe
