    3. They might have been put in the archives. When I got Mason and Kimble everything was taken off. One lady asked me what happened to the things she sent to the Web Site. I didn't know at the time that things were put there leaving the page almost empty. I have requested that if I ever give up my sites that everything stay in place for the next person. They can change the design or whatever. I just think its not right to strip a page of information just because someone new gets it. Wanda Matthew 5 - 7 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lawrence E. 3. I have the birth records for Mason County on my site. I have even been asked to add names, parents and birthdates. She said whoever transcribed them must have missed him. A lot of the spelling is wrong and I have been asked to correct the names. I have only had two people contact me in my 6 counties. One wanted his divorce taken off and a lawyer in California ask that her birth be taken off. They gave no reason other than they wanted them off. I took them off. 3. Yes, the birth records may be placed on your county websites. The TX births are available through paid subscription services such as Ancestry.com. Remember that we do honor requests for removal of information on living persons though I rarely receive such requests. In fact, many times I receive birth information to add to my lists.   Shirley            --- On Tue, 4/7/09, Peggy Allen <dixie95@mycvc.net> wrote: From: Peggy Allen <dixie95@mycvc.net> Subject: [TXGEN] Birth Files To: txgen@rootsweb.com Date: Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 9:08 PM Ok I have been looking through my cds and cause I thought I had save some births and I found them.  Can we put them on our sites or is that banned now.  I have had no one ask me to remove their name from any list in a long time.  If I make a web page with the births on it will it be ok to post. 3. Your right, take a deep breath and let it out. Yesterday I got so mad it is a wonder I didn't have steam coming out of my ears. Somehow someway my credit card has been compromised. Someone called last week with a high sales pitch. My husband who is hard of hearing said okay. He never gave out our credit card. It seems the caller was representing two different callers. Both gave me a month to try their services and I could cancel within that time. Both charged my account with a few dollars each. Both would have been 19.95 a month for their services. I called the credit card company and they said they didn't give out that information as one of them had said. I told my husband that if anyone called to tell him we are not interested and hang up. I turned one of them into the BBB. The number they used was turned into the National no call list. We are on both the Texas and the National no call list. All I can think of is that a hacker managed to get into an account that I do business with. But now I can check that credit card on a daily basis and see if any phony charges have been made. So when you get frustrated remember there are worse things out there. 3. If you look back in the Achiever, it shows that Leigh Compton had the website at that time. If RW is still housing materials on that addy, then Shirley should be able to contact them and see if the site can be abandoned and turned over to TXGenWeb. Jan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lawrence E. Oliver" <oliverl@suddenlink.net> Shirley - As best I remember, it was back in the 90's and it was a guy that had it at that time. I think that he died and the website was then given to someone else. I don't know if anyone ever got into the original website. However, if you go to: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~txpecos/Meetings/ You get a blank page, not a 404 error. Shows that something is still there. If you go to: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~txpecos/ You get a redirect to the new Pecos website. Don't know what happened to the old website.
