I don't have time to really delve into it, but did check early Galveston city directory (1879-1882) which lists Gundar Anderson (note misspelling) as a longshoreman in 1881-82 living on the west side of 27th between Avenue C & D. Quick check of a few more directories up through 1896 shows name continued to be listed as Anderson.
