This message was posted to the Galveston Co. Genealogy web page: EMAIL: Wabbit50@aol.com SURNAMES: Cook DATE: Mar 15 1999 My great gradfather Capt. Silas Cook died with yellow fever 11-21-1867. He was sailing out of Baltimore, Md., where he lived, to Galveston, Tx. The name of the ship was either Mabel or Norwalk, built by J.S. Seller & Co. I think he was buried in Galveston. I would love to know more about his death and about the Ships that he was the Capt. Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Jacqueline Watts Wabbit50@aol.com.
