I am searching for a female BIRDSONG who was possibly born in Galveston or Harris County between the years of 1948 and 1950. Up until two years ago, my mother, Georgia Nadine BIRDSONG, never knew who her father was. After searching for quite sometime, I finally discovered that he was Robert Walker BIRDSONG, born in Alabama in 1910. After receiving copies of his military records, I also discovered that he had an older daughter from his first marriage named Dorothy (Dottie) Verlon BIRDSONG (my mother's half sister). Now, after alot of searching again, I found her living in MS. She tells me that my mother has a full sister that was 1-3 years younger than my mother but doesn't know what her name is/was. She also said that she remembers the two girls being placed in the Galveston County Orphanage at one time. This female BIRDSONG's father would have been Robert Walker BIRDSONG and her mother, Georgia Henrietta HEMPHILL. They were married in the 40's and lived in the Houston and Galveston areas. My mother was born in Houston at the Jefferson Davis Hospital which leads me to believe that her sister may have been born there as well. If you happen to have any information regarding this female BIRDSONG, please write to me. I am an amateur at genealogy and would also be open to any suggestions as to how I might locate this person.
