Dear Debbie-Storm of 1900 destroyed most records. U.S. President about 1815 passed law that ship captains had to list their cargo AND list the immigrants on board. The port made a copy and kept it. The original document was sent to the National Archives in Washington,D.C. Today we have a Regional Branch in Fort Worth that has records for Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, & Louisiana. Mailing Address: P.O. 6216, Fort Worth,TX 76115-0216. Phone: (817)334-5515 Email: center@ftworth.nara.gov also try: Archives@ftworth.nara.gov http://nara.gov/regional/ftworth.html Hope this helps.
