    2. Shelly Henley Kelly
    3. The Rosenberg Library has recently introduced a new aspect to their web page. They have created a "master list" of 1900 Storm Victims. This list includes up to 5,132 names which have been cross checked with the 1899-1900 city directory for accurancy in name spelling and residential location. Currently their list is composed from three major printed lists and before Christmas time will be updated to include other sources. To view this list, please go to www.rosenberg-library.org/gthc/1900storm.htm Shelly Kelly Galveston TX

    1. Re: [TXGALVES] Master List of 1900 Storm Victims
    2. Shelly, I am Michael A. Salinas the Founder and President of The Galvez Society for Hispanic Genealogy. I have a great aunt who was killed in the 1900 storm that night before going to have her first communion photos which were to be taken on the next day. I have searched high and low over the course of some 10 years trying to find a reference for her in the papers. No such luck..I started with the first page of the news the mini reduced one, and went through every listing..She was one of the ones that remained unknown or was washed out to sea. I have been trying to get her added to a listing somewhere but did not know how to go about it. The sad part is that her father my great-grandfather, was with the crews that helped to recover bodies and take them to the cemetaries, during the clean up, the only thing they found was her doll carriage that was crushed into some debris outside a block away from the home she was staying in to do the photo the next morning. Her name was Maria Virgina Mercedes Longoria, and she was 8 years old. I have her baptism certificate from St. Marys Church which is dated 1895. My family moved to Galveston in the 1890's from South Texas. I would like to more about what I could do to help document the Hispanic Families in Galveston, if you have any ideas let me know. Thank you Michael Salinas

    2. Keike, I saw you posting. Have you checked at the courthouse? They have records of all business based on taxes payed, which might give you locality or other resouces information. Also the Rosenberg library probably has some archival information or photos that could be another source of information. Michael

    3. I used to be on the list for this site. I ended up taking myself off, but am still listed as a volunteer, because of all the bickering and fighting between the listowner and subscribers. I'm not saying it is still like this, but be cautious if you subscribe. 3. Hi There, I will be happy to do this. If I promised to this before and did not, please forgive me! My only child moved to start college last week and I had eye surgery the month before. Sorry to be so distracted. Please refresh my memory and give me the name I'm looking for,, please. Was he from Denmark proper? Or, was he from an area that was Denmark in the 1800's and is now part of Germany?
