I do know he lived in New Orleans for a time and later met and married Anne Aurelia Cartwright from Richmond Texas. Her father was Jessie Hunter Cartwright. He came to Texas with Stephen F. Austin and settled near present day Richmond Texas in Ft. Bend County. After Anne and Josiah married they moved to Freestone county and had three daughters. I am still searching for his parents. It is possible Josiah was born in NYC. Not for sure. I do know Josiah was born in 1801 and Anne abt 1830. I"ll let you know if anything turns up. Laura Teer Fritsche
