There is a Lindley Cemeteryoff the road from Mexia to Wortham on the Freestone/Limestone County line. I surveyed what I could in the mid 1970s and posted it in several locations. One part was fenced and nicely maintained. The other part - Where the Lindley family was buried, was badly overgrown and had been damaged a great deal by trees and cattle. The gate was locked and entry only by permission. I understand the Joseph Lindley and his wife were moved in the mid 1980s to the State Capital Cemetery in Austin.
