Tilman is shown as being the son of Joseph and Mary in Freestone Co. in 1850. A twin is not shown. I have found a Tilman H. Self registering to vote in Tarrant Co 25 Nov 1869. According to the records he had been living in precinct 2 of Tarrant Co. Tx for 9 mos. I have lots of good stories from "so called authorities," but I have NO tangible evidence to link Tilman to Hettie. In addition, I have found a William Self married to Minerva in Brown Co, 1880 Census with a daughter named Hettie born in 1876. He also had a daughter named America. My "authorities" have reported that Hettie had a sister named America Belle. I would dearly love to make 2+2 = 4, but I can't. Something is not correct somewhere, but I haven't figured it out yet.
