She was the daughter of Isaac Francis Jackson & Missouri Abigail Harris. In 1879, she married John Clarke Tomlin in Montgomery County,Alabama. In 1880, John & Roxie were censused in Montgomery County(Dooley) and it shows that John & his mother were born in Georgia and his father in North Carolina. John was shown to be either 22 or 23 at the time. My grandfather, Roy Laitten Tomlin, was born in 1881 probably in either Montgomery or Macon County, Aalbama. John Tomlin died when Roy Tomlin was a small boy & there were not other children born to that marriage. I feel John Clarke Tomlin either died in Montgomery or Macon County. My problem is trying to find out who John's parents were. He had a brother named Henry and a sister. Because of the similarity in given names of John Clarke, I feel that there might be a family connection. It could be just a coincidence. I understand descendants of John Clarke Teakell & Nancy Harris settled in Freestone County.
