    3. Thanks to all of you who responded to my query about the 1910 census and my family the "Monk's" I finally found them with some help on the LEON co. 1910 census. The transcriber had put their name down as MORK. Anyway I finally found them and now on to 1920. I did find out some more info on the 1910 census. There's was another son that I didn't know anything about. His name was Dewey Monk and he was 7 on the 1910 census. All the children along with the parents were born in Texas. Here's what I have so far: 1880 Brown county census William Monk 45 Mary A. 32 Mary A. 15 Jno. W 10---should be 13 Martha 8 Robt. L 6 Richard 4 Samuel 2 Mattie 2 next: I have placed this family along with his brother's in Freestone county with tax rolls and census records. TAX RECORDS: 1895-Freestone county what look's like J W Monk or Mock******this one is questionable 1897-Milam county 2 Monk's but was hard to make out the names 1903-Freestone county J W Monk W T Monk----?? 1904-Freestone county J W Monk 1905-Freestone county J W Monk 1906-Freestone county J W Monk 1907-Freestone county Jim Monk---?? John Mork------misspelled ( J W Monk)---42 years old Maud 16 Wesley 13 Mary 9 Dewey 7 Erlette 5--have seen this name spelled Estelle, Estella, and Esteller Grace is not here in 1910. I have had 2 sources tell me that she died in 1907. I am guessing that she died either in Leon or Freestone county. Need help with this one. 1910 census for Dallas co. Sam Monk---------brother to J W and Richard Susie and Family........ 1920 CAN'T find J W MONK and family 1920 census for Freestone county R M (Richard) Monk Emma Annie Mary Bud Bertha Dot Clifford Cozatt Beataline Rosa------sister-in-law WESLEY-----nephew------son of J W MONK Wesley married Freestone county in Oct. of 1920 and lived there until 1926 when he moved his famioy to Plainview. He contracted typhoid while on the journey there and died. He is buried there. His family returned to Mexia and lived there for awhile. The children were placed in the orphanage in Corsicana until they were grown. My father-in-law lives in Tehuacana today. Monk)----Mertzon Mrs. Mattie Pierce------Killeen If you've stayed with me here I am looking for any info on all these wonderful people. I especially would like to get info on Grace and Dewey Monk. I believe that he may have died. I have some cemetery info from Freestone county and Leon county. I looks like Richard and his family lived most all of their life in Freestone county. I would love to find any of their descendents or that of Maud Monk/Nanny. I don't know when she died. I know that her husband died in 1965 in Teague. Any and all help is most welcome.
