I did find something in my Freestone Co. Book #2. Edward Taylor Eppes was a ninth generation American. His ancestor, Francis Eppes came from England to Virginia in the early 1600's, having been granted several hundred acres of land on the James and Appomatox Rivers. Five generations later Frances' great-great-great grandson, Peter Eppes, served in the Amer. Rev. Peter's grandson, Lewis Temple Eppes, (Edward's father) was a Confederate soldier from Freestone Co.. Lewis Temple Eppes was born in VA., but his family moved to AL when he was a child. In the mid 1850's, after his wife died, Temple and his two year old son, Edward Taylor Eppes moved to Freestone Co.,TX. In 1873 Lewis Temple married Martha (Matt) Kendrick. Their kids were Mary Chapman (Kindon), Jack, and Kendrick. In Antioch Cemetery in Luna, TX I found some of the Eppes graves: L. T. Eppes 8-25-1828--9-19-1919, his wife Matt Eppes 4-20-1844---11-19-1930, W. K. Eppes 1-7-1881---2-29-1908, J. B. Eppes 10-20-1886---10-12-1915
