King who was married to Thomas Henry Lane until his death in 1860 actually gave Freestone County, Texas it's name. According to other postings Elizabeth B. King was a female physician. I also read that her son James King Lane was a methodist minister, held a seat on the Texas Legislature and that the town of Lanely, Texas (which I believe to be in Freestone County) was named after him. I am looking for some confirmation that this is correct. I cannot find any information to substantiate the above claims. I also can't find anything on Elizabeth B. King after Thomas' death in 1860. Any information would be helpful.
