    3. Is this the John? Yerby who arrested the bank robbers at the AH White's General Store in Dew? I asked my mom if she ever knew any Yerbys and she said there was a story about a bank (in Oakwood, possibly) being robbed and a Mr. Yerby (John?) heard about it and saw the gang getting gasoline at my g-grandaddy's store and Mr. Yerby (with only one firearm) arrested the whole gang of armed bank robbers. My mom said that she heard this story her whole life and she thinks she knows where Mr. Yerby lived at Dew. This incident must have happened sometime during the 1920s & 1930s (I guess). I called my aunt (mom's older sister) to ask her about this, but she wasn't home. I'll check with her later and let you know what I find out. Does this story ring a bell with any one else?
