Taylor, born 1833 in Texas, married Nancy E. Reilly (Riley), born 1834 in Kentucky. Children, Mary I (or J.) born 1854, James B. (Baxter), 1856, William L (Levi), 1857 and Franklin F., 1860, All children born in Texas. I find the family only once in the 1860 Freestone County, Texas census. John M. went off to the war and never came back and Nancy died shortly after the census. The children were sent to live with relatives in Gillespie and Leon counties. William Levi (Buck) Taylor eventually found his way to Nebraska and went to work for William F. Cody. When Cody formed his Wild West Show, "Buck" Taylor was its first star. Buck said in interviews that his grandfather and uncle were killed at the battle of the Alamo. I can't make the connection Any help will be appreciated.
