I think the B. A. Spencer mentioned in this estate document as a child of Amanda Daniel could be Benjamin A. Spencer, father of Mrs. Edgar G. (Buena Vista) Miles of Fairfield. Mike
Good morning, My name is Tom Ellis. I am the new coordinator for your county website as many of you already know. I just wanted to drop a quick note and say Thank You to all the researches that have contributed information to the website since I have taken over the duties of county coordinator as well as all the information that had been contributed in the past. I have worked on and been to many websites that did not have a fraction of the information here, it is very impressive. Thank you also the Jimmy, who I replaced, he has done a wonderful job as well as all the past coordinators before him. As many of you have seen I have made several changes, mostly cosmetic, all the information that was here in the past will still be here for the future. If anyone has a suggestion or complaint about what I have changed, please do hot hesitate in letting me. This is your website, I just maintain it. Everyone please Have A Blessed Day and Thank You to you All Tom Ellis Ellis Marketers

It has Marshal Martin and wife Elizabeth J. and a number of children, among them my grandmother Harrit E. L. Martin, age 5, and her older sister Auguster L. Martin, age 13. This family eventually moved to Erath County, Texas and my grandmother married George Rufus Stracener in 1895. Neither lady spelled their name as on the census, but we know how names were mispelled back then. All were born in Tennessee except for Elizabeth J. who was born in N. Carolina. I know a few bits of information on this family, but none of it adds up to make sense for a complete picture. Any help greatly appreciated on where in Tennessee they came from or anything else.

They married about 1816 in NC or SC. The lady told Doyle that Rachel's surname was CHESTER. His computer crashed and he lost all his info and cannot find his notes with the lady's name. Josephine Yerby Ford, d/o John Randolph Yerby, s/o Amon and Rachel, also gave her Grandmother Rachel's surname as CHESTER in Yerby family records that she passed on to a neice before she died. There has been a conflict about Rachel's surname. Was it DODSON, McMILLIAN or CHESTER? Anyone know anything about that Bible record? I have an idea that the Bible belongs to someone who descended from James Franklin Yerby, s/o Amon and Rachel Yerby, who settled in Buffalo, Leon Co., TX about 1870. Related families include descendants of John S. and Nancy (Dodson) Jones who married into the James Franklin Yerby family, Benjamin F and Martha Eveline (Yerby) Pounds family, George R. and Frances (Yerby) Martin family, John Wm. and Mary Katherine (Taggart) Yerby family, Franklin Monroe and Nancy Ann (Simmons) Yerby family, and Thomas Lee and Lucy Ann (Yarbrough) Yerby family. All of us descendants of Amon and Rachel Yerby would like to find proof of Rachel's surname. If you can supply this info, PLEASE, contact me. I have been shaking the YERBY/YEARBY/IRBY Family Tree twenty- plus years searching for those who walked this way before me. All help appreciated. Hildred Carlson
