He married into a family that had a hardware store in Teague. I am not sure of the spelling (Coulson) I understand she is buried in Teague. I am just beginning to do research in Teague so at the present time I have little information.

My grandmother was a lightfoot-maiden name and married willie miles. she is buried in Woodland cemetery I think. I was real young when she died. Can you get me the email of Laura Bradley who was inquiring on the crow name. Her mother was Martha Jane Miles. Someone in my family said there was a Jane Miles that was a great great grandmother. I would like to visit with her and also with anyone in Freestone county that can help me out. My grandfather was Willie Miles and he died before I was born in 1949.

These are not available on interlibrary loan. But, you can arrange to get duplicate copies made by them for the years where they had the microfilm produced originally. Dr. Frank P. PEYTON, late of Teague but recently in Mexia was laid to rest Sunday afternoon at 3:00. The crowd was estimated at 1500, many coming from distant points to attest the popularity of the physician who had practiced the profession of medicine in this section for around forty years. Dr. PEYTON died in Mexia Friday night, death being caused by pneumonia. The funeral services held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George PEYTON, his nephew, on Rusk Street at 2:00 at which service, many like wise gathered. The service in the home was conducted by the Rev. J. W. PEARSON of Tehuacana, assisted by the Rev. C. L. CARTWRIGHT pastor of Mexia First Methodist Church. Rev. PEARSON recounted the important events in the life of the deceased and gave a message most helpful the sorrowing relatives as he told of Dr. PEYTON as an old physician who never turned a deaf ear to a call for help and who lived up to the high ethics of the profession always. He also spoke of him as a citizen of the first rank and a christian, who’s loyalty and devotion to god in god’s church were paramount in his life. He stated that forty years Dr. PEYTON had been his friend, that he had come to his help in their younger years when he needed a friend and this friendship had blossomed into love as the years had come and gone. Dr. PEYTON reached this section of Texas in the 80’s and resided in Mexia where he practiced medicine until he moved a few years ago to Corpus Christi, later to Teagueand only recently back to Mexia. Active Pallbearers were, George and Will PEYTON of Mexia, Finus PEYTON of Wortham, Frank PEYTON of Fairfield, Travis PEYTON of Teague, and Bailey PEYTON of San Antonio. All nephews of deceased. At the cemetery the service was conducted by the Masonic Fraternity. Decedent having served as high Priest of Mexia Chapter No. 131 Rural Arch Masons and as Eminent commander of Coeu De Lion Comandery 52 Knights Templar . He was laid to rest beneath a bank of flowers tendered by many loved ones. He is survived by two brothers, J. M. PEYTON, former Mayor, Mexia and T. S. PEYTON, former Tax Collector, Freestone County, a sister, Mrs. Barbara COLLINS of Medina Texas and an only daughter Mrs. T. E. KING of Dallas. Besides several nephew and neices and thousands of friends, for he was a splendid citizen, a christian gentleman, and a true friend. Mexia News
