Hello, Fellow List Members! I am looking for information on the BRIEGER/POWITZKY families of Fayette and Bastrop Counties. Johanna BRIEGER (b. abt. 1831) married Edward John POWITZKY (b. btwn. 1819 - 1821) in Fayette County on February 10, 1857 and the couple had three children, Augusta, Edward John, and Ernest. Augusta married Louis ILGEN/ELGIN in Lee County and the pair moved to Galveston where their three children were born. Johanna was the daughter of Gottlieb BRIEGER who was born abt. 1803 in Bangua, Prussia (now Bankua, Poland - ?).
