>It's been a really long time since we've heard from some of you on the list. It might be helpful if you checked in and reminded us about which surnames you are researching. Good idea, Rox Ann. Fayette/Lavaca surname search: Williams, Horton, Lawhon, Peeler, Anderson, Ray, Glass. My Fayette County connections are primarily through my Williams paternal line: Isaac Williams and his wife Cornelia Armstrong (along with Isaac's brother Valentine Martin Williams) moved to Texas from Mississippi in 1859, and settled in Fayette County in the High Hill area. Isaac and his wife had 11 children, many of whom stayed in Fayette County after they married. Isaac and Cornelia are buried in the Schulenburg City Cemetery. Valentine Martin and his wife, Josephine Rexford, had 7 children, and eventually shifted across county lines into Lavaca, where Valentine is buried in the Old Moulton Cemetery. My Horton Line came into the area before 1856 when my gg-grandfather James Jasper Horton moved from Montgomery County. James and his wife, Sarah, had 7 children. James died in 1895 and is buried in the Navidad Baptist Cemetery (off Vacek Loop 2.8 miles SSE of Schulenburg) along with one of his daughters, Lucenda Collens Horton Ray, her husband, Joal Grant Ray, one of their daughters, and Joal's father and mother. There is a searchable database of these and other related families at my website: http://www.relatedlines.com/ --Hughes Williams
