I have found another 'heir of William Alley'. Thomas Alley who died before the Court divided the Spanish land grant in Fayette county in 1854 leaving no issue. He had land in Jackson County, below Hardy's on the Navidad river. His sister Sarah Chaplin stated in the court documents that she was his sister, and she was also heir of William Alley, their father, and she was giving power of attorney to her son Edward Berthe to handle her interest in the property. William Hill (son of Thomas Hill and Mary Alley) was given power of attorney by his Father, Thomas Hill of St Francois County Missouri on Sept 9 1850, and guardianship of his son John Wallace Hill, who was a minor, to handle their interest in the property. Jane Hill, now wife of Isreal McGahan of in St. Francois County Missouri also was represented by her brother William in 1850 and later by the John Wallace Hill who was a minor in 1850. (No mention was made of Charles Hill the brother from which I am decendent) who lived in Fayette County with wife Martha (Ricer) in 1860. Martha was daughter of Martin Ricer and Julia Ann G. Mercer. Julia's father was Asa Simmons Mercer, brother of Eli Mercer who settled in Wharton County. Heirs of the brother John Alley who lived in St Francois County Missouri included Mary Ann Murphy and Amanda Tyler represented in Court by William Hill and later John Wallace Hill.
