Some time ago - well. a couple of years - I did find an Enoch Breeding, in KY, but not in Christian Co. Can't remember how I found him - may have been Ancestry.Com - and don't have my notes filed in anything but a pile!! But he could be our right one. I had promised myself I'd get back to filing things like that so I can really see what I have, during this recuperative period of 6 weeks. now here it is 6 weeks gone, and I haven't felt like doing anything. Will let you know when I find it again. Have a great trip. Maydelle
I'm sorry. I hope I did not come across as flippant regarding Adolph Brune's military service. I didn't catch that I was answering my mother's e-mail through the entire list. Rox Ann

Hello Cousin Maydelle, Nope, not yet have not found Enoch. Maybe Martha and I will this trip. Maybe we can find more on the Davis line as well. I am going to go to Ann McSwain Clendenin Rogers grave to visit my ancestor, which not for her we would not be here. Hopefully I will find John Davis too. Since he died there the must also be buried on the Alexander Welch land, which was next to his place. Jane Clendendin Davis is buried in Christian Co Ky I assume since she died there. Maybe next year I can go looking for her. Would love the balloon festival. But going to Greenbrier is my vacation for this year. Doug Sr, and Jr are leaving next Wednesday to Elk hunt in Colorado. Since I was not invited I am heading east. Will be staying with the ABC and NBC guys, well at the same hotel. Hope your knees are doing okay. Just take it easy and don't rush. We don't want anything to happen to you. Blessings to you, Phyllis
Phyllis, have a great time in W. Va. Did anyone ever locate the Breeding brother who didn't go to Texas, Enoch? I'm recovering from a knee replacement these days. Kinda traumatic, but I'm on the mend. My daughter-in-law, who lives in Mansfield, says you guys are getting more than your share of rain lately. We had some bad hail a few nights ago, but no damage to my house. International Balloon Fiesta underway all this week (except for Tues. and the big storm), and it's absolutely breathtaking to see 700 balloons in the sky at one time. You should come and photograph it! have fun. Maydelle

My Arbuckles came from Knox Co. OH & went to Clark Co, IL in about 1840. My line went on down to Mercer Co, MO & it was from there that my gr grandmother's brother, William, disappeared in late 1800s. William was b in 1854 & that was the birthdate on the tombstone in the Flatonia Cemetery. I was hopeful that I had finally found him but maybe not, if your group was in the area too. The original Arbuckles were in Mifflin & Juniata Co. PA & of course, earlier Scotland, by way of No. Ireland. Kathy Carter and her staff will do lookups in many of the resources listed below. E-mail them at library@fais.net and don't forget to thank them for this wonderful service. Please note that, while they will look up specific information for you, they cannot research your lineage for application to the various heritage organizations. That task is yours to enjoy! The archives contain a wealth of information for anyone researching a Fayette County family. Plan to visit soon! http://www.rootsweb.com/~txfayett/fayarch.html You e-mail your request to them and they will e-mail you back if they find it, you send them a check and get your obituary by return mail.
I would like to try to get a copy of an obit for a Wm Arbuckle buried in a Flatonia Cemetery. Wm died 5-27-1897. Was there a local newspaper at that time or some other source for info on this fellow? I think he was my gr grandmother's missing brother from MO. Thank you, Diane Ethridge Conroe, TX
It was a good idea to post this on the list. Thanks for doing that. It reminds me that when we visited the U.S.S. Arizona memorial in Hawaii, I took some photos of the memorial wall that listed the names of the men who were killed in that attack. I took them specifically of the place where a Brune man was listed, thinking he might be in my records. Brune is not a common name, so I figured he was from Texas. He wasn't in my records, so I don't remember what his first name was. I'll have to look it up, but I bet it was Adolf Brune, who is on the list you posted. If anyone is interested, I can scan the photos and email them privately. Attachments won't go through on the list. Martha
Martha, I noticed your mention of the name "Brune". My g-grandfather, Jacob Poth, had a sister, Elizabeth Poth (b. 1840, d.unk). Elizabeth married a Wilhelm Brune on November 28, 1858 in New Ulm, Austin County. Together, they had at least 12 children (Eliese, Anna, Wilhelmmine, Hedwig, Maximilian, Louis, Wilmhelm, Alma, Auguste, Josepfiene, Norma, Admund) born between 1859 and 1886. Our family lost touch with the Brune family once the first cousins had all passed and I have not had the time to research them. On the slight chance that you might be related, I thought that I would present my information to you. Jacob married Anna Laake and moved to Lavaca County to establish a gin and then to Dewitt County to ranch and farm. Any chance that you might have a connection between the Poth and Brune families? Could you answer off-list? Where possible we've linked to photos, names of parents, where they died, and photos of grave markers. We haven't added all the names on the national archives list, because we haven't found supporting evidence (like obituaries or burial information) that they were from Fayette County. For example, one was inducted in Illinois. If anyone can add information about any of the following people from the national archives list I'd love to hear from you: Adam Bogdanski, Alfred Fischer, Willie Fitzgerald, Doris Lewis, Albert Malcik, Roy Nagel, Ernest Quitta, Andrew Schramm, Louis Schulz, John Segura, James Worthy. Also from the courthouse list: Gilbert Austin, Adolph Barta, Henry George Giesber, Eugene Holub, Henry Kozelsky, Edward Rainosek, Sr., and Edwin Paul Vecera. Most of these sound like Fayette County names, but we have not yet found information about their deaths, burial place, or other connection to the county. Thanks for your help with this project!
I need to know the date of divorce between Archibald (Archie/Archey) and Nancy Cunningham Ray, marr. 1872. Two daus. Mary F. and Susan E. In 1880 census Nancy is with her new husband, John Duncan, in Bastrop County. Any help would be appreciated. Teresa Parrish
