    1. Re: Harrell family in Fayette Lee and Gonzales counties
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Harrell, Kennedy, Lee, Hunter, Wright, McGinty, Fitzpatrick, Napier, Perrin, Woodson, Farrar/Ferrar, Randolph, Banks, Royall, Isham, Bolling, Baker, Davenport, Mallory, Gilley, Bondurant, O Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mkB.2ACI/107.1.1 Message Board Post: Well, I was born in Gonzales, but my Harrells came to adjacent Fayette county: the William and Minerva Harrells in the 1820s from Missouri and my mothers grandmothers Harrells, arrived in 1854, from Alabama. There are many, many Harrell in the area, including Round Rock/Austin settler, Jacob Harrell, in 1830s. You might want to look at the listings in Handbook of Texas Online, and also at the Fayette county archives...although not too much there, there might be some incations/family trees in the Harrell file. By the 1860s there were a lot of the families children getting married. Might even be my cousins but I don't recognize the names. Sorry. Good luck, Gary Stella

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mkB.2ACI/330.1 Message Board Post: Jackie, I grew up in Schulenburg, but didn't hear of the orphan train folks until just a few years ago. Several older people in the Schulenburg area were orphans on these trains. I recall a year or two ago seeing a magazine article about them, but don't recall the name of the magazine. I'm thinking that it might have in the magazine that goes to members of the American Automobile Association, but I'm not sure of that. Also, I found this web site that might be of interest to you, if you don't already know about it: http://www.genealinks.com/orphantrain.htm
